Depop teams up with Zara Larsson for global campaign
Resale fashion marketplace Depop has launched a new global campaign starring Grammy-nominated artist Zara Larsson, celebrating personal style, creativity and second-hand fashion.
The four-part content series, directed by filmmaker Dave Meyers, explores Depop’s role as a platform for discovering, buying and selling unique fashion pieces, with Larsson bringing her own approach to styling into the campaign.
Shot in Sweden and styled by Caterina Ospina, the campaign reflects Larsson’s personal mix of vintage and contemporary fashion, highlighting how consumers are increasingly using resale platforms to create individual wardrobes beyond traditional fashion trends.
"Fashion has always been one of the ways I express myself,” said Larsson. “I love mixing vintage with newer pieces and finding things that feel unexpected. That’s why I’ve always loved Depop.”
To coincide with the campaign launch on 21 July, Depop is introducing The Zara Larsson Edit, an exclusive Depop Shop featuring 20 to 30 pieces curated from the artist’s personal wardrobe, alongside upcycled merchandise and one-of-a-kind fashion finds including designer items.
The collection aims to give fans access to Larsson’s personal style while reinforcing Depop’s focus on circular fashion and extending the life cycle of clothing.
Steve Dool, Brand and Creative Director at Depop, said: “Zara has an incredible eye for style because she approaches fashion with curiosity rather than rules.”
“Her mix of vintage, emerging designers and personal treasures feels effortless, and that’s exactly the spirit of Depop.”
Founded in 2011, Depop has grown into one of the leading resale fashion marketplaces, with approximately 56 million registered users globally. The platform has positioned itself around community-led shopping, encouraging users to buy and sell second-hand clothing while creating a more circular approach to fashion consumption.
The campaign comes as Depop enters a new phase of growth following eBay’s proposed $1.2 billion acquisition of the platform from Etsy. The deal was cleared by the UK Competition and Markets Authority earlier this month, removing a key regulatory hurdle and allowing the transaction to proceed.
The acquisition forms part of eBay’s wider strategy to strengthen its position in fashion resale, while Depop is expected to retain its name, brand, platform and community focus following completion of the deal.
