David Beckham appeared in Milan this week, announcing the launch of his first eyewear collection, EYEWEAR by DAVID BECKHAM, due to launch in March 2020.
Created in collaboration with leading luxury eyewear manufacturer Safilo in Italy, David Beckham has curated a collection of frames made from some of the finest materials. The collection is based on Beckham’s personal taste and eye for detail and is being described as having “an exceptional contemporary aesthetic with traditional craftsmanship.”
As part of the initial campaign launch for the collection, Beckham is promoting the eyewear on his Instagram, where he thanked Safilo for its continued support.
The Spring/Summer 2020 collection for the media personality’s new brand will be available at selected retailers from March 2020.
Since retiring from football Beckham has created a wide-ranging brand business, based on his personal image and reputation as a style leader with his ventures including collaborations with Adidas and L’Oreal. Last year David and Victoria Beckham acquired full ownership of the former footballer’s brand company, buying out the minority stake held by Simon Fuller, their longtime business partner.
Beckham is also Ambassadorial President of the British Fashion Council helping to raise awareness of British fashion on the global stage.
