13 July 2021

Dame Carolyn McCall, CEO of ITV, is to step down as a non-executive director of Burberry at the end of the current financial year.

Dame Carolyn has sat on the board of the British luxury house since 2014 and has confirmed she will depart when the financial year ends on 2 April 2022.

Chairman Gerry Murphy said in statement: "I want to thank Carolyn for her outstanding service to Burberry as an independent Non-Executive Director and Senior Independent Director since joining our Board in September 2014 and look forward to her continuing counsel for the remainder of her time with us."

Burberry is also conducting a search for a new CEO following the news that Marco Gobbetti, who joined the house in 2017, is to leave at the end of this year to return to Italy to head up luxury footwear brand Salvatore Ferragamo.
