Crew Clothing reports rocketing Christmas sales with plans for 20 new stores in 2025
Crew Clothing has reported a 45% jump in sales in the two weeks to 29 December 2024, compared to the two weeks to 31 December 2023, as it eyes adding 20 more UK stores to its retail portfolio in 2025.
It puts the growth down to its multichannel approach across e-commerce, retail stores and third party sales partnerships.
Crew Clothing opened 15 new stores in 2024, including in London’s Paddington, Canterbury, East Grinstead, Eastbourne, Chelmsford, Whitstable, Falmouth and Newquay.
It has seen its store estate net sales rising by 22%, "showcasing the continued importance of brick-and-mortar locations".
The retailer now has its sights on Cumbria, with a new store opening in Keswick tomorrow, 30 January, and in Kendal in two weeks. It can’t, as yet, share the locations of the other 18 stores planned for this year.
E-commerce demand for Crew Clothing has also leapt 70%, while third party channel sales grew 34% - driven by partnerships with retailers such as M&S (launched in 2021) and John Lewis (launched in 2023).
Crew Clothing’s Q4 results showed consistent momentum with total like-for-like sales up 17%. The company also reported a record-breaking Black Friday period, during which total business sales grew 23%, from the peak trading period of Black Friday through to the end of the December.
With the expansion of Crew Clothing’s product offering, the brand saw "increased appetite" with new customers throughout 2024, while maintaining a loyal base of returning shoppers.
Its continued investment in its retail portfolio backs up its claim as being "a long standing champion of the British high street".
