Corteiz x Nike confirm anticipated collection after speculation

The Corteiz x Nike collaboration, which has recently been garnering speculation on social media, has officially been confirmed by both brands.

Last week, the Corteiz Alcatraz logo was projected onto the front of Nike’s flagship store in Oxford Circus. Onlookers quickly assumed that this was a marketing technique from the British streetwear label, however, it also raised suspicions that a collaboration was in the works.

Both brands have now officially confirmed that a Corteiz x Nike collection is on the horizon for 2023. Further details on the collaboration are yet to be released.

Corteiz, which was started in West London by Clint (@clint419), quickly gained a cult following after launching in 2017. It accumulated a fanbase that spans the globe using guerrilla marketing strategies.

Guerrilla marketing involves the use of novel or unconventional methods of promotion to boost sales or attract interest in a brand or business. These methods are often low-cost or no-cost and involve the widespread use of more personal interactions.

Despite affordably pricing its items, such as tracksuits, t-shirts, outerwear, it hasn’t stopped the brand from garnering attention from celebrities including the likes of Drake. The rapper was seen recently sporting a “DA SKYDIVE” jacket from the brand on his Instagram.

Clint419’s label has already released collections with the streetwear label Soho Yacht Club, as well as Nigerian imprint, Motherlan. The brand has also confirmed collaborations with UK rap stars Central Cee and Meekz.

The sportswear giant Nike is building on a collection of recent high-profile collaborations with Stüssy and Jacquemus to name a few.
