Copenhagen Fashion Week will take place online only while trade fairs cancelled

Copenhagen Fashion Week has said its catwalk event will take place online only while the city's trade fairs for February 2021 have been cancelled.

Denmark has imposed a ban on all trade fairs until the end of February 2021 meaning CIFF and Revolver cannot go ahead.

Cecilie Thorsmark, CEO of Copenhagen Fashion Week said: "Due to the current development of Covid-19, we have been forced to cancel all physical events this time, including the trade fairs.

"Copenhagen Fashion Week's show schedule and talks program is still carried out, although virtually, via our digital universe at copenhagenfashionweek.com. Even though it is definitely unwished-for, it is undeniably the right thing to do, and instead we look forward to being able to meet physically again for the August 2021 fashion week."

Copenhagen's shows and catwalks are among the most popular with international buyers, showcasing directional yet commercial brands such as Ganni and Stand Studio, and last August the city introduced a new hybrid physical and digital format. However in common with most other major international shows, the physical shows have had to be placed on hold until August.

All Copenhagen's shows and talks can be experienced from 2-4 February 2021 via Copenhagen Fashion Week's new digital platform on www.copenhagenfashionweek.com, which will be launched on 14 January.

In the UK, the three major London shows, Pure London, Scoop and Jacket Required, have been cancelled for February and will now take place under one roof as a combined event, at the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea, in September.
