Copenhagen Fashion Summit rebrands to emphasise global outlook

22 February 2022

The annual sustainable fashion forum Copenhagen Fashion Summit will return to its physical format event under a new name, Global Fashion Summit.

Taking place between 7-8 June in the Royal Opera House in Copenhagen, the new name emphasises the global outlook and reach of the forum and marks a new era for collaboration in the fashion industry. In the future it will also be hosted in various key cities in addition to its flagship edition in Copenhagen, with details to be shared later this year.

The forum has been presented by the Global Fashion Agenda (GFA) for 13 years.  The theme for the upcoming Global Fashion Summit: Copenhagen Edition 2022 is "Alliances For a New Era" and will see the event endeavour to form "previously inconceivable alliances" within the fashion industry, which will see competing business come together on panels to talk about about their shared challenges and collaborate on actions to tackle urgent issues.

Collaborations beyond fashion will also be encouraged, with the Summit inviting players from the transportation, food and energy industries to start conversations about how their issues intersect or mirror those of the fashion industry, and be inspired by success stories.

For the first time there will also be an in-depth assessment of the impact that the Summit and its resulting alliances have on the industry. This will examine the concrete outcomes from the Summit and provide a baseline for future forums.

Federica Marchionni, CEO, Global Fashion Agenda, said: “‘Alliances for a New Era’ epitomises our current climate – we are living in a time when the majority are ready and willing to evolve but we need to break down silos and pre-competitive barriers to enact truly pervasive change. Through this Summit, we are striving to enable impactful partnerships and drive progress on a greater scale since there are less than eight years to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals."
