Converse and A-COLD-WALL* to release futuristic ‘Sponge Crater’ collaboration shoe

Converse is continuing its collaboration with Samuel Ross’ A-COLD-WALL* brand with a new limited edition “first-of-its-kind” ‘Sponge Crater’ shoe release on 23 June 2022.

It’s part of an ongoing exercise in futuristic design and next generation comfort which combines Converse’s footwear knowhow and technology with Ross’ contemporary style.

The futurist mule cut silhouette apparently “takes comfort to the next level”, with revolutionary CX foam underfoot and an egg-crate style traction pod outsole.

The flat-knit upper helps promote breathability and the spandex collar, pull tabs and exaggerated heel kick makes it easy to slip on and off, with no laces required.

The unique avant-garde shoe is made of only a few components, and is described as “both an exploration and exaggeration of Crater foam as a comfort material and a study in reducing complexity”.

London rapper Kam-BU stars alongside Ugandan model Eva Apio in the global launch campaign.
