Coach unveils limited edition Keith Haring x Disney collection

Coach has announced a collaboration with NYC artist Keith Haring to create a limited edition Disney collection, inspired by Keith Haring’s Mickey Mouse drawings from the 1980's.

The collection features both apparel and accessories, including bags topped with Mickey’s ears and sweatshirts printed with Haring’s original artwork.

The brand describes the artwork as "Reimagined within the collection, Haring’s illustrations of Mickey Mouse uniquely illuminate his philosophy as an artist—his belief that art should be for everyone, and the tension between originality and pop culture his work often explored."

The Tapestry-owned luxury brand unveiled the collection's pieces in a campaign starring Coach regulars Kaia Gerber, Cole Sprouse, Xiao Wen Ju, Kiko, and Myles O’Neal.

Created in collaboration with photographer Alessandro Simonetti, it recreates the energy of downtown New York in the 80s, where Haring lived and created his art.

Coach Creative Director Stuart Vevers, said: “Sometimes the best design comes from the most unlikely juxtapositions, and I can’t think of a cultural clash that brings me more joy than Mickey Mouse and Keith Haring. Ahead of its time when it was first made, this art feels so timely today as we can celebrate and appreciate the diverse work of great creators whoever they may be, without social boundaries.”

To introduce the collection, Coach will also launch the Disney Mickey Mouse x Coach Exploratorium, an interactive digital experience where customers can watch exclusive videos featuring some of the stars of the campaign.

The Disney Mickey Mouse x Coach Exploratorium launches on 4 January 2021 in Europe.
