Clearpay sees sales rise by 246% in UK

Clearpay, the UK buy now pay later provider, has announced its results for the three months period January-March 2021, with sales up 104% globally and 246% in the UK, compared with the same period in 2020.

New merchants that went live or were contracted in the three month period include Ann Summers, Public Desire, Conturve, Smirk, Cettire, Quiz and EGO Shoes.

Underlying sales in the UK increased by 246% compared to the same period last year, up 277% against pcp, on a local currency basis, with the UK performing strongly, despite the ongoing impact of pandemic restrictions during the period.

Sales globally reached £2.9 billion, up 104% across its US, Australian and the UK markets. Active customers using the service also increased to 14.6 million globally.

Clearpay announced principal sponsor of London Fashion Week from February 2021 as part of a new two-year partnership to support the UK retail industry and give consumers more access to the best of British fashion via integrated, inclusive shoppable moments and dynamic interactive concepts.

Clearpay will also underwrite all of The British Fashion Council (BFC) talent initiatives including NEWGEN, the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund, the BFC/GQ Designer Menswear Fund and the BFC Fashion Trust.
