Clarks 'excited' to open new flagship on Oxford Circus

Heritage British footwear brand Clarks is opening a new flagship store on Oxford Street this summer, showcasing its updated retail identity.

The 2,839 sq ft flagship store will be located at 522 Oxford Street, close to Marble Arch, and will feature the brand's new store design concept, which Clarks introduced last November in its refurbished Tottenham Court Road store.

The space, which will span both the ground floor and basement space, is likely to open its doors in July, although the exact date has not yet been confirmed.

It will be Clarks’ third store on Oxford Street, reinforcing its ongoing investment in London retail.

Joe Ulloa, Clarks President for the UK, ROI and Europe, told TheIndustry.fashion: "We’re excited to share that this summer we’ll be opening a new store on one of the UK’s most iconic shopping destinations, Oxford Street, London.

"The new store will be located close to Marble Arch station, joining our two existing Clarks stores and marking our third location on Oxford Street.

"It’s an exciting moment for the brand as we continue to invest in physical retail, creating a fresh and welcoming space for customers to experience and discover Clarks."

The new flagship forms part of the brand’s wider strategic transformation following its 200th anniversary last year. To coincide with the anniversary, the brand rolled out a new retail concept at its Tottenham Court Road store, marking the beginning of a refreshed brand narrative, with a focus on modernised store environments and enhanced customer experience.

Featuring a stainless-steel exterior and sleek zones dedicated to women’s, men’s and kids’ footwear, alongside dedicated spaces designed for activations and community events, the brand signalled a more experiential retail approach.

Yesterday, Clarks also announced another aspect of its transformation with the launch of its first-ever online marketplace, ‘Brands Now at Clarks’.

The marketplace launch marks a significant milestone in Clarks' growth strategy, as it continues to expand beyond its iconic footwear offering into a broader, curated lifestyle destination.

It also builds on Clarks’ expansion into new categories and experiences, including last year’s introduction of its back-to-school uniform apparel, non-footwear product lines such as T-shirts, hoodies and water bottles, and the growth of its Cloudsteppers standalone brand and retail concept globally.
