Copenhagen International Fashion Fair (CIFF) has acquired competitor show Revolver, uniting Denmark’s two major fashion trade fairs.

Taking place twice a year, CIFF has become an internationally recognised trade fair in the fashion industry. Revolver, which also takes place twice a year, has become known for its progressive contemporary brands.

The merger is set to benefit the Scandinavian industry as a whole, uniting the previously competing fairs in a strategic move that will renew and develop the overall fair experience and nurture one unified and coordinated fashion city and order platform.

This news comes ahead of Sofie Dolva’s debut as Director of CIFF,  who assumed the role in August 2022. In addition, February's show will celebrate CIFF’s 60th presentation and its 30th anniversary year.

Dolva commented: “I am humbled and deeply excited by the opportunity to lead this new and united organisation, which rests on the shoulders of some of the most competent and experienced trade fair experts Scandinavia has to offer.

“Now we go all in on creating even more progress and value for the man stakeholders of Copenhagen Fashion Week. This merger will be the biggest power move the European fashion fair industry has experienced in many years.

Logistically, Revolver will relocate to join the CIFF team in its HQ. Despite moving under one roof, the brands will remain separate with two unique fair concepts and locations. CIFF's trade show will be held at Bella Center and Revolver's will be held at Øksnehallen.

Christian Maiborn, Founder and Creative Director of Revolver, added: “I am thoroughly proud of this solution. It took willpower, time, and hard work from all parties to reach this goal. By uniting each of the two organisations’ unique qualities, we can deliver a fantastic and future-proof framework which I personally and together with the rest of the Revolver team very much look forward to being a part of.”
