Christian Louboutin unveils first of a kind collaboration with SportyHenri.com

Christian Louboutin has unveiled a limited edition capsule collection of trainers created in partnership with newly launched sportswear concept e-store SportyHenri.com.

Louboutin has developed four styles for Sporty Henri which was set up earlier this year by his friend and former French professional handball player Henri Tai. The range includes a classic high top, the SH Bip Bip Flat, and a low rise style, the SH Louis Junior.

The trainers feature the Sporty Henri brand’s colour palette of white, cobalt blue and black, as well as the distinctive logo. The SH One Flat and SH Blue Flat feature Maison regular spike detailing and all the designs are finished with the signature Christian Louboutin red sole made from relaxed rubber.

"It’s a real pleasure for me to touch and create some exclusive designs which, I think, represent the values that are dear to Henri: sport mixed with style in a fun and colourful way," said Louboutin of the collaboration.

Tai established his site, which offers a mix of editorial and premium shopping, for the "sartorially inclined athlete". Content on the site includes insight and knowledge from  “The Gang”, regarded experts in their field, such as basketball player Tony Parker. All the product on the site is selected personally by Tai.

"For me, clothes are an extension of myself, they let me express something about who I am, about my personality, but also they let me explore it. It is this vision that I want to bring to life with SportyHenri.com, and here it takes form through this wonderful capsule collection of trainers by Christian Louboutin, which I feel very privileged to offer our clients exclusively," Tai said.

This collaboration marks the second time Louboutin and Tai have teamed up; they recently joined forces to support the Cuban National delegation as Official Supplier of the Celebratory Outfit for the Olympic Games in Rio. In consultation with the athletes themselves, they created a uniform to reflect the "glorious celebratory moments of their Olympic journey". It was created solely for use of the Cuban National and was not released for sale.

Christian Louboutin for SportyHenri.com is available from today online at SportyHenri.com exclusively, and at select Christian Louboutin flagship boutiques including New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Seoul, Dubai, Tokyo and Beijing. Prices range from £495-£795.
