Christian Louboutin names Jaden Smith as first men’s creative director
Luxury footwear brand Christian Louboutin has named American rapper and actor Jaden Smith as its first-ever men’s creative director.
In this new role, Smith will lead the design and creative direction of four men’s collections each year, spanning footwear, leather goods, and accessories.
His responsibilities will also extend beyond product design to include the development of campaigns, immersive brand experiences, and high-impact events that reflect a new era for Louboutin’s men’s universe.
To fully embrace this new chapter, Smith will relocate to Paris and is set to unveil his debut collection during Paris Fashion Week Men’s in January 2026. The collection will launch in boutiques shortly after.
Smith first connected with Christian Louboutin in 2019, a meeting that sparked a creative dialogue now culminating in this collaboration.
Founder Christian Louboutin shared that Smith's unique vision and approach to fashion will help shape "a distinctive visual and emotional universe" for the label.
Louboutin said: "When I first met Jaden, I saw in him a natural fit for the Maison, his world is rich and multidimensional, his style and cultural sensibility are inspiring, and his curiosity and openness are remarkable.
"I felt that with his creative direction our men’s collection would evolve in an exciting and dynamic way. He feels like the perfect addition to our creative team, and I am truly looking forward to having fun working with him on our men’s collections."
Smith steps into the role with a clear vision: to "expand and enrich the men’s narrative" at Christian Louboutin. He brings with him nearly a decade of experience in footwear collaborations, the creative foundation of his own streetwear label MSFTSrep Infinity, and a multidisciplinary approach shaped by his work in music, performance, and activism.
Speaking about his appointment, Smith said: "Merging my vision with Christian’s comes quite naturally because we see the world in a very similar way. There’s a shared respect for creative freedom, and I think that’s why it works.
"I want to continue the story, honouring the past while shaping the future through my own perspective. It isn’t just a title — it’s a creative home. Christian has given me a place to explore, to learn, and to create freely. His legacy is built on hard work and joy, and I want to carry that forward."
Christian Louboutin introduced its men’s line over 15 years ago, and it now accounts for 24% of the brand’s overall business. With Jaden Smith - who brings both cultural influence and a social media following of 19.1 million on Instagram - the brand aims to further grow its presence and capture a larger share of the men’s luxury market.
