Cheaney adds to footwear line-up in Marylebone Village

Joseph Cheaney & Sons has just opened a new store in London's Marylebone Village, its 11th store, while fellow classic footwear maker Martel + Ram has opened a pop-up.

The Cheaney store is located at 1a Marylebone High Street while Martel + Ram is at 56 New Cavendish Street until 1 April. News of the new arrivals follows yesterday's announcement by ethical footwear brand Allbirds that it would be opening a second UK store on Marylebone High Street next month.

Rob Kirk, Head of Retail & Leisure at The Howard deWalden Estate, commented on the signings: “We’re pleased to be welcoming these new footwear brands to Marylebone Village, adding to its successful mix of occupiers.

“The general affordability of products and changing consumer behaviour is driving activity at the higher end of the market. Consumers are becoming increasingly aware of buying quality footwear that has a longer lifespan, and are willing to invest in order to do so.”
