Charles Tyrwhitt CEO heads to Body Shop

Brazil's Natura Cosméticos group, the new owner of The Body Shop, has appointed Charles Tyrwhitt CEO David Boynton as CEO of the British bath and body retailer.

Boynton had been at shirtmaker Charles Tyrhwhitt for just over a year, having joined from French business L‘Occitane. He was initially appointed as CMO last June and promoted to CEO seven months ago.

He will take over from The Body Shop's current CEO Jeremy Schwartz on 4 December. The appointment comes just three months after Natura acquired The Body Shop for from L'Oreal for €1bn.

"I am delighted to be joining The Body Shop at this exciting time as it becomes part of the Natura family,” Boynton said in a statement. “I have admired both companies from afar for years and it is truly a great match, bringing together two values-driven beauty businesses with a passion for the preservation of the natural world and respect for people and communities.”

Charles Tyrwhitt was founded by Nick Wheeler (the brand name come from his middle names) in 1986 and has a flagship store on London's Jermyn Street and more than 20 stores across the UK as well as international stores in New York, Paris, Washington DC and Chicago
