Chanel heads list of Dezeen's hot fashion brands
Chanel has topped the list of the most influential fashion brands among the readership of leading design publication and website Dezeen.
The legendary French house achieved the accolade in part due to the success of one project in particular – the glass-brick facade designed by MVRDV for its Amsterdam store (pictured above).
It was followed on "The Fashion Hot List" by COS, the premium H&M brand, whose fast-growing reputation among the design community can be attributed to its ongoing collaborations with designers like Sou Fujimoto (at Salone del Mobile this year) and Nendo, according to Dezeen.
Dior came third on the list thanks to its Seoul store designed by Christian Portzamparc and Peter Marino, followed by Issey Miyake who is admired for his clothing designs.
Trend forecaster Li Edelkoort founder herself in fifth position for declaring that "fashion is dead", with the remainder of the top 10 made up of Camper, Prada, designer Iris van Herpen, Paul Smith and Acne Studios. British luxury brands Burberry and Alexander McQueen came in at 18 and 19 respectively.
The fashion list was pulled from the wider Dezeen Hot List which lists the 400 architects, designers, brands and products that Dezeen readers most wanted to read about over the past year. The list was compiled by analysing more than 100m page views and hundreds of thousands of search returns, covering the period 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016.
The overall list was topped by the late architect Zaha Hadid.
