CFE’s Manufacturers Trade Show to explore how technology is driving manufacturing
The Centre for Fashion Enterprise’s day-long show on Wednesday 3 April, at the LSO St Luke's church in east London’s Old Street, will connect fashion designers with tech and manufacturing businesses in what is the CFE’s 14th FashTech event exploring “Manufacturing for the Future”.
The unique sourcing event will highlight how technology is driving manufacturing to innovate - improving transparency, reducing waste and enabling personalisation.The focus will be on fashion businesses looking to connect with high-end production units, including manufacturers, pattern cutters, fashion software and embroidery services, which cater to smaller scale quantities for fashion entrepreneurs.
Exhibitors, this time, include Jenny King Embroidery, Kitty Ferreira and London Pattern Bureau and new knitwear offers from Knitster and Harlowe Studios.
There will also be an evening panel discussion to explore the “next wave of making: technology-enabled design and manufacturing”. The evening event, hosted by CFE, will bring together a panel of experts, including Carys Roberts - Chief Economist and Head of the Centre for Economic Justice at IPPR.
Anna Ellis, CFE's production manager, who advises its designers on working with factories, finding suppliers, as well as actually advising on production techniques, says: “Our trade show offers emerging designers and brands the opportunity to connect with London-based manufacturers who are willing to work in small batches, and with specialists working across embroidery, pattern-cutting and so on.
