CFDA and Vogue to launch COVID-19 relief fund
The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund has been repurposed into a new COVID-19 relief fund, called 'A Common Thread', as confirmed by both companies.
Originally launched in the wake of 9/11 to benefit emerging creatives impacted by the tragedy, Vogue‘s Anna Wintour and CFDA Chairman Tom Ford have decided to use this year’s fundraiser to aid fashion businesses impacted by coronavirus.
Applications will be available through the CFDA website starting 8 April 2020, with the fund not solely limited to previous Fashion Fund participants or members of the CFDA.
To help raise awareness of the how COVID-19 has affected emerging talent, the initiative will be accompanied by a series of videos, highlighting the stories of struggling fashion businesses. The series will launch on 26 March on the Vogue and CFDA websites.
Donations to the fund are now open on a dedication platform.
