Centre:mk signs up Mango following strong 2022 performance
Mango is continuing with its UK retail expansion and opening a new 4,500 sq ft store in Milton Keynes' Centre:mk this summer.
Mango, which has been present in the UK since 1998, currently has over 40 stores in the country, including company-owned stores, franchises and concessions in department stores. The company also operates in the UK through its own online channel and various marketplaces.
The new location is expected to features its Mediterranean-inspired store concept, ‘New Med’, which is already present in some of the company’s flagship stores around the world. It aims to “reflect the spirit and freshness of the brand” and is strongly influenced by Mediterranean culture and style.
Mango’s signing follows a strong 2022 performance for centre:mk with footfall up 31% on 2021, outperforming both the UK and South East industry benchmarks. Christmas also proved to be a standout trading period for the destination, with womenswear, accessories, and jewellery sales up by as much as 32.6% from 2021, affirming Mango’s strategic move to sign at the centre.

In December 2022, Mango launched a new strategy to help reduce the environmental and social impact of its products and operations. The initiative, Sustainable Vision 2030, incorporates new performance indicators in line with stricter market standards. It spans three key pillars: Committed to Product, Committed to Planet and Committed to People.
