UK sportswear brand Castore yesterday launched an upsized 2,600 sq ft store on Peter’s Lane at the Liverpool ONE shopping centre, just nine months after opening its previous 1,600 sq ft shop on the nearby Manesty’s Lane.

Castore has its flagship shop at 31 King’s Road, London, and opened its first store at Liverpool ONE in August, 2020. As with the previous store, Castore’s new Peter’s Lane address is a stone’s throw from the brand’s Liverpool headquarters, “providing an important presence for the brand to celebrate and develop its roots in the city.”

The new shop at 26 Peter’s Lane has been designed in-house by the Castore team to encapsulate the brand’s ‘Better Never Stops’ ethos. It stocks the entire Castore product range plus several exclusive products and colourways.

Tom Beahon, Co-founder at Castore, said: “After less than 12 months at Liverpool ONE it has been clear to us that it is the ideal environment, in the heart of the city, to take our brand from strength to strength.

“We are really excited about the positioning and potential of this new upsized store space, and looking forward to continuing as part the Liverpool ONE community as the UK’s sport and retail sectors take off again in 2021.”

Alison Clegg, Managing Director of Asset Management at Liverpool ONE landlord Grosvenor, added: “Castore’s commitment to an upsized store is a solid endorsement for Liverpool ONE, and it signifies the resilient demand for bricks and mortar retail space across the estate. Castore is a fantastic locally owned and internationally renowned brand to enhance the premium character of Peter’s Lane.”

Harnessing sports science expertise, world-leading engineering and unique performance fabrics across its men’s and women’s collections, Castore has quickly established a firm reputation and legions of followers. They include elite athletes such as British Grand Slam tennis champion Andy Murray, who is a board advisor and brand ambassador, and England rugby caption Owen Farrell, who signed a major partnership with Castore in late 2020.

The opening of the new upsized Castore store coincided with the reopening of non-essential retail across the estate yesterday, 12 April, including the launch of Europe’s leading aesthetic medical centre, Thérapie Clinic, marking the brand’s debut in the North West region.
