Castore to open new store in Derby
British sportswear brand Castore will open a new store at Derbion shopping centre in Derby this month, following the launch of its flagship store at Centre:MK in Milton Keynes in early July.
Located on the second level of the centre, the new Derby store will showcase the brand’s collection of men’s and women’s sportswear, as well as its various sports team branded apparel, including Red Bull Racing, England Cricket and McLaren Formula One.
Pete Alecock, Commercial Director at Castore, said: "We are really excited to be opening our latest store at Derbion as we look to bring our quality array of sportswear to Derby shoppers.
"Since launching in 2015, we have undertaken a large expansion which has included opening stores in thriving retail destinations across the UK. Derbion’s fantastic array of big name brands means it brings in shoppers from across the East Midlands -making it the perfect place for our first store in the city."
The arrival of Castore further expands Derbion’s sports and fitness offering, which currently includes Sports Direct, Foot Locker and Lids.
It also comes hot on the heels of JD expanding its presence at Derbion, more than doubling the size of its previous unit to a 20,175 sq ft space, selling brands including Adidas, The North Face and Nike.
Beth McDonald, Managing Director at Derbion, said: "Castore has significantly expanded in recent years in response to increasing demand from customers seeking high quality performance sportswear.
"It is fantastic that Castore will joining the line-up at Derbion, and with the recent opening of JD’s new flagship store, we have first hand experience of how leading sportswear brands continue to attract a wide array of shoppers to Derbion."
