Castore reports ‘strongest ever sales’ during Christmas period
British sportswear brand Castore has today announced a "victory" during the Christmas trading period, reporting its strongest-ever sales performance.
Castore's revenues grew by 16% year-on-year during December. The company said the "sportswear market remained more resilient than other retail segments" as consumers continued to prioritise their health. In particular, Boxing Day was the largest individual revenue day with a majority of sales happening online.
Dubai Mall was the retailer's highest revenue-generating store for the second consecutive year, as it continues to grow in the region and globally.
In terms of bestselling products, over 150,000 football shirts were sold in the final weeks before Christmas. Formula 1 products were also standout performers and womenswear sales were up by over 30%, demonstrating the continued growth in women’s sports.
Tom Beahon, co-founder of Castore, said: "We are delighted to deliver such resilient trading in a challenging environment and this positive momentum has continued so far into January. Our strategy will remain focussed on omnichannel, combining the best of digital, physical stores and third-party retail partners to maximise the reach of the Castore brand.
"Product innovation remains at the heart of Castore’s success and we are excited to launch a number of new ranges to customers and fans this year."

Looking ahead, despite the continued cost rises to businesses and looming National Insurance tax increases, Castore remains "bullish on the high street" with plans to open between 5 and 10 new stores during the remainder of 2025.
Beahon added: "We are optimistic about 2025 despite the macro-economic uncertainties and are forecasting continued profitable growth both in the UK and international markets."
It follows December's appointment of Danny Downs as its Chief Commercial Officer as it looked to strengthen its executive team amid expansion. In September, the British sportswear brand opened a new 1,482 sq ft store at Braehead Shopping Centre in Renfrew, on the outskirts of Glasgow after opening a new store at the Derbion Shopping Centre in Derby in August and its flagship store opening at Centre:mk in Milton Keynes in July.
