British sportswear brand Castore and high street retailer Reiss have today announced their second activewear collaboration, introducing womenswear for the first time having launched with menswear in November 2021.

The new collection features a modern mix of hybrid styles, high-performance and lifestyle pieces that can be worn pre, during, and post-gym.

The collection, consisting of 15 menswear and 10 womenswear pieces, also features advanced technical fabrications with specialist properties designed to endure the toughest training sessions.

Mehm Kali, Chief Creative Officer at Castore, said: “We’re delighted to continue our collaboration with Reiss after the fantastic response to season one.

“In addition to menswear, we’ve introduced a womenswear capsule which focuses on pre and post-training stories to add light and active lifestyle notes, whilst still building on the performance pieces within the range.”

Alex Field, Menswear Director at Reiss, commented: “Luxury fashion and athletic wear are no longer two distinct worlds. Adding leisure elements to activewear means that everything delivers on the comfort scale and performance.”

The highly anticipated women’s collection also features advanced technical fabrications with specialist properties. Leggings and tops have been constructed with moisture-wicking fabric for improved breathability, and bonded seams “for maximum comfort during any phase of the workout”. The ribbed details throughout the collection add a touch of leisurewear.

The hybrid pieces are more ergonomic while maintaining a luxurious appeal, such as a shell jacket made from stretchy nylon that’s wind and water-resistant, doubling up as a running jacket or as a lightweight shell to wear in the city.

There are also quick-drying two-in-one performance shorts with compression properties for improved muscle performance.

A further innovation of the latest collaboration is the introduction of knitwear for men. It was designed in-house at Reiss, as it’s an essential category for the retailer.

Prices for the new collection, which comes in a six colour palette of navy, espresso, cloud, mauve, thyme and petal, include a men’s flyweight track jacket at £160, a women’s performance vest at £50 and a women’s ribbed bra at £38.
