Cambridge Satchel secures further investment
The Cambridge Satchel Company has secured further investment from Hong Kong based private equity house Cassia Investments to aid expansion.
Founded by Julie Deane from her kitchen table in 2008, the business has recently been expanding its retail presence in the UK and now operates five stores here and has stockists in 150 countries.
Cassia investments founder Faris Ayoub has joined the business has a director and says it's a brand with aspirational global appeal, the Evening Standard has reported.
Deane said Cassia's expertise in the Asian market would help the brand with its global expansion. “At a time when British exporting is key to the economy, we are proud to have investors that bring global skills and support. Our commitment to British manufacturing is as resolute as ever.”
The Cambridge Satchel Company recently welcomed the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall to its factory in Syston, Leicestershire, to witnessed the production of one of its signature satchels from start to finish. The facility produces 8,000 satchels a month.
