Cambridge Satchel continues UK retail expansion with new Edinburgh store

Following Cambridge Satchel’s Covent Garden, Cambridge, Leeds and Windsor store openings, the brand has now marked its return to Edinburgh with a new 516 sq ft store at 23 Frederick Street.

Under the direction of Cambridge Satchel CEO Carine De Koenigswarter, the new store, which sits in Edinburgh’s Georgian New Town - located between the historic Princes Street and George Street - has been designed by renowned architects Atelier A&D.

Taking inspiration from the surrounding area, the bold design features a palette of light greys and natural woods, "continuing to elevate the British accessory brand" while blending modern design with a nod to British heritage and local Scottish influences.

The front of the store has been upgraded and repainted in a deep oxblood red colour with a discrete backlit golden Cambridge Satchel sign, while the window is decorated with a series of wired metal cubes which have been custom built out of Sheffield steel.

Cambridge Satchel CEO, Carine De Koenigswarter, said: "We are thrilled to return to Edinburgh, one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, and the new Cambridge Satchel store takes pride of place in the city’s premium retail location.

"We have huge ambitions for the leather goods brand, and these are coming to fruition through our continued retail expansion both in the UK and internationally with our recently opened Leeds, Windsor and Paris stores."

The complete Cambridge Satchel accessory collection, entirely handcrafted in the UK and including women’s and men’s collections covering crossbody bags, satchels, handbags, tote bags, backpacks, briefcases and trunks, is now available in the new store.

There is also exclusively designed product tailored towards the Scottish capital,  including a build your own ‘Highland Cow’ key charm, alongside British favourites like the brand’s ‘Corgi’ and ‘Guardsman’ charms.

Additionally, the Cambridge Satchel embossing service allows customers to further personalise purchases.
