Burberry unveils Riccardo Tisci's AW19 pre-collection

Burberry has unveiled new chief creative officer Riccardo Tisci's AW19 pre-collection, which is due to land in stores in May 2019.

The collection follows on from Tisci's debut SS19 line, shown at London Fashion Week in September, and continues the new "house codes" established with that collection, along with the new monogram based on the initials of Thomas Burberry.

"I wanted this collection to be a continuation of the story I began to tell in September with my debut Burberry collection. I’m focusing on establishing our codes through archive prints, house colours, and iconic outerwear, while cementing the new themes I set out last season including the Thomas Burberry Monogram, eveningwear and tailoring,” Tisci said.

The collection for men and women features leather and shearling patchwork, ring-snap fastenings, micro metal rings and studs. There is a focus on trench coats, downs and quilts.

As well as shaking up the design codes at the house since his arrival earlier this year to replace long-standing former creative chief Christopher Bailey, Tisci has been shaking up the delivery schedule too.

As well as the main collections, the house is staging a series of new product drops each month to keep the offer fresh. It will be launching limited edition collaborations such as a forthcoming capsule created with Vivienne Westwood.
