Burberry suspends product shipments to Russia, donates to Ukraine

British luxury label Burberry has announced that it has put all its product shipments to Russia on hold "due to operational challenges".

Burberry currently has four retail outlets in Russia which make up less than 1% of sales, according to reports and one location in Ukraine's capital, Kiev. The company said that it is monitoring the developing situation and supporting its staff in both countries.

Burberry has also announced that it is donating to the British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal "to support the relief efforts". It is further matching any employee donations to charities supporting humanitarian efforts in Ukraine with an equivalent donation.

The company continued: "Millions of lives are being impacted by the events unfolding in Ukraine. These are incredibly difficult times for many people and our thoughts are with all those impacted by the crisis."
