Burberry releases star-studded short film for Christmas

Burberry has released a star-studded short film recounting the key moments in the life of its founder Thomas Burberry which has debuted today across social media, digital media, cinema and out of home advertising channels.

The cinematic trailer-style film, called The Tale of Thomas Burberry, stars Sienna Miller, Lily James, Dominic West and Domhnall Gleeson and recounts some of the early achievements of Burberry (Gleeson) including outfitting Ernest Shackleton (West) for his polar expedition, creating the original "trench" coats for WW1 soldiers and sponsoring the record-breaking flight from London to Cape Town by Betty Kirby Green.

In the three-minute film, which is directed by Academy Award-winner Asif Kapadia, Kirby Green is reimagined as Betty Dawson and played by Lily James.

Burberry is celebrating its 160-year anniversary this year.
