Bulgari new CEO to succeed long-serving boss Jean-Christophe Babin
Bulgari has appointed Laura Burdese as CEO, effective 1 July, succeeding Jean-Christophe Babin, who has held the position for over 12 years.
Burdese's appointment comes more than a year after she took on the role of deputy CEO, marking a natural progression in her leadership journey at the luxury giant.
Her career within the LVMH Group began in 2016 when she became President and CEO of Acqua di Parma.
She later joined Bulgari in 2022 as Vice President of Marketing & Communications.
Prior to her time at the Italian jewellery and accessories brand, Burdese held brand management roles at Beiersdorf and L’Oréal.
"I am very proud of this smooth transition from one great leader to another," Stéphane Bianchi, LVMH Group Managing Director, told WWD.
Since its acquisition by LVMH in 2011, Bulgari has continued to expand, benefiting from the leadership of figures such as Babin.
With Burdese taking the reins as CEO, the jewellery brand is positioned for a another new phase of growth and innovation.
Babin will continue to serve as Chairman of the Bulgari board, CEO of the Bulgari Hotel business unit, and president of the Bulgari Foundation.
"The nomination of Laura, while opening a new chapter for Bulgari, is a tribute to her strong contribution and accomplishments. Jean-Christophe has shaped the success of TAG Heuer and Bulgari while creating unique paths within their respective industries," added Bianchi.
"I am confident that in his new missions, he will bring the same energy and keep on supporting LVMH and its maisons thanks to his extraordinary vision."
