Browns Brook Street has launched an exclusive 27-piece edit of women’s and men’s ready-to-wear pieces from the Gucci ‘Cosmogonie’ cruise SS23 collection, with a dedicated installation in The Focus Room of the store.

The collection includes a women’s black reversible shearling jacket priced at £6,250 and a men’s 70’s style single breasted two-button brown velvet blazer at £2,500, with matching wide-leg trousers at £800, and has been photographed on musical duo Georgie Ellery and Taylor Skye from the band, Jockstrap.

The Focus Room acts as the window to Browns’ Mayfair boutique and is designed to spotlight the season's most exciting exclusives and collections - from new gen to established designers.

The Gucci Cosmogonie installation “takes inspiration from the connections between the stars that make up constellations above us”, adorned with midnight blue hues and luminous stars.

Browns Buying Director, Ida Petersson, said: “Gucci is one of Browns’ oldest legacy brands and of course, we are big fans of Alessandro Michele’s universe. The creative director is a storyteller like no other, dreaming up not just collections but worlds, which makes the brand a perfect collaborator for the immersive experience taking place in The Focus Room.

“Celebrating our partnership with this rare opportunity to offer customers a unique and comprehensive edit created just for Browns, we are so excited to welcome Gucci back, this time in our new forever home on Brook Street. I can’t wait for our customers to start exploring the Gucci universe at Browns.”

Earlier this week, Gucci confirmed that creative chief Michele is departing the business. He was largely credited with reviving the Kering flagship brand’s fortunes during his seven-year tenure at the helm of the business.

Michele was a little known Gucci insider when he was appointed to helm the house in 2014 (he has been at the business for a total of 20 years). He went on to create a sensation with his eclectic and expansive collections that drew in multiple historic and contemporary cultural references, all wrapped up in a look that became known affectionately as “Gucci Geek”.
