Luxury fashion retailer Browns has today launched an exclusive collection called "Future Shoes" with Grenson, which sees designers Eckhaus Latta, LABRUM and Phipps give their take on three of the Northampton footwear brand’s classic boots.

Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta, of Eckhaus Latta, have brought their fluid approach to design to the collaboration “creating a twist on a classic form to bring another energy to an iconic style” in taking on Grenson’s "Milo" Chelsea boot and remaking it in a bright yellow hide with black spots.

LABRUM designer Foday Dumbuya has reworked Grenson’s iconic "Fred" brogue boot in an antiquated notched leather and triple leather sole combination. Dumbuya’s eye for print, textile and colour shine through.

Last but not least, Spencer Phipps of Phipps has brought his functional approach in “blending classic taste and Grenson’s expertise with truly innovative fashion in the world of menswear”. For his boot, Spencer has created a knee-high derby boot with padding around the calf made with Grenson’s signature 201G last, and completed with a light catching reflective hiking style lace.

Browns Footwear Buyer, Lewis Bloyce, said: “It was time to shake things up for hard shoes and who better to tackle this than three pioneering brands in the menswear world.”

Tim Little, Creative Director of Grenson, added: “This was such an exciting project for us because working with exciting young designers, and getting their take on what we do, is not only fun but also inspiring and the ultimate result is some really amazing shoes.”
