Bromelia Swimwear commits to working solely with underrepresented groups

US based ethical swimwear brand, Bromelia Swimwear has confirmed its commitment to working with underrepresented groups, including women, those considered a minority and LGBT+ individuals.

Many fashion brands have continued to show their support for the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month, despite no clear season of queer events to target their product to.

Throughout Pride Month, TheIndustry.fashion will be showcasing the brands who continue to be proud, and support the LGBTQ+ community and break down barriers in fashion.

California-based, Bromelia's entire collection has been ethically produced in Brazil and is founded on conscious fashion practices, where every local artist involved is treated with dignity and paid a fair wage.

Specialising in tropical prints and simple cuts, the Brazil-produced label works with local women to ensure each of its pieces is designed and handmade on home turf.

Bromelia Swimwear is created and made by an all female & LGBTQ creative team. From the design stage through to pattern making, from sewing to putting on the final trims. Everyone who touches the products is treated with dignity, no matter how big or small their part.

The brand recently dropped its second spring drop for 2020, after a successful launch of its first original spring looks.

Lauren Quinn, Creative Director & Founder, told TheIndustry.fashion: "The LGBT community brings a vibrancy to Bromelia. There is a powerful voice and strong soul that underlines their work.

"I intentionally seek them out in order to encourage a better balance of their representation; but, in all honesty, their work shines bright. Even if this community received equal treatment, what they produce would naturally rise to the top."
