The British Fashion Council (BFC) has revealed the names of the emerging designers who will receive NEWGEN support to show their collections at London Fashion Week in September.

One new designer has joined the NEWGEN roster for the coming season, Royal College of Art graduate Paula Knorr whose womenswear brand is now in its third season. Ashley Williams, Danielle Romeril, Faustine Steinmetz, Marta Jakubowski, Molly Goddard, Ryan Lo and Sadie Williams will all continue to receive support this season with Williams, Lo and Goddard staging catwalk shows and the others static presentations.

Each NEWGEN recipient will also receive a dedicated pop-up space at the Designer Showrooms space in the Brewer Street Carpark (the location for London Fashion Week, which runs from 16-20 September) to allow them to take appointments with buyers and press after their shows or presentations.

NEWGEN, which is supported by Topshop, has been a highly successful support initiative for emerging talent since its inception in 1993. Past recipients have included Alexander McQueen, Erdem, Christopher Kane and JW Anderson among others.

BFC Ambassador for Emerging Talent and chair of the NEWGEN Committee Sarah Mower described the graduates who come through the scheme as "the lifeblood of London and its reputation as a creative hotbed with business credentials developed at a very early stage." Mower added: "This generation is thinking of new ways of presenting and are natural communicators of the digital age – they are all individualists with exciting, optimistic ideas which are a delight to see.”
