Bristol to welcome Uniqlo’s first South West store
Uniqlo is opening a store in Bristol on 16 April 2026, the first time the Japanese fashion brand is coming to the South West of England.
The store will span two storeys and will be located in Cabot Circus, on the corner of Penn Street and Brigstowe Street.
The store will showcase Uniqlo's LifeWear essentials, "designed to fit seamlessly into daily life, from harbourside mornings to summer evenings," according to the brand.
Inside the store, Uniqlo will be hosting a UTme! customisation station, where customers can print bespoke designs onto T-shirts and tote bags. Customers will also be able to recycle, repair or remake Uniqlo items with the RE.UNIQLO STUDIO service, which will also be offered in store.
To showcase its commitment to the city's creative landscape, the brand has also announced a number of partnerships with local businesses and organisations, including a collaboration with the independent and award-winning animation studio Aardman, which is responsible for classics such as Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep.
A local artist, Melo, will also be designing a "striking mural" that will span the internal two-storey staircase of the store, with music entertainment provided by independent radio station Noods Radio, which will also be organising live performances from local DJs in the store.
Alessandro Dudech, Chief Operating Officer at Uniqlo UK, said: "We are delighted to be opening our first South West store here in Bristol, a city renowned for its creativity and strong sense of community.
"From the very beginning, we have felt genuine enthusiasm and support from the city and see strong demand on our e-commerce platforms. Bringing Uniqlo's LifeWear to Bristol in a bricks and mortar setting is a meaningly step for us."
Shelly Taylor, Senior Asset Manager at Hammerson, added: "We cannot wait to welcome Uniqlo to Cabot Circus, a brand at the cutting edge of fashion technology, that is truly embracing what Bristol has to offer as they launch their newest and much anticipated store in the heart of the city centre.
"They will absolutely delight our customers with their distinctive clothing range and will be a further exciting boost to our strong brand line- up in 2026. It is set to be a true gateway space for Cabot Circus and is yet another first for the South West region."
In January, Uniqlo's parent company Fast Retailing reported its first-quarter results, underlining the growing strength of the Uniqlo brand as both a commercial and cultural engine for the group.
Uniqlo currently has 23 stores in the UK, but its expansion continues, with more stores scheduled to open later this year.
