Bravissimo sets sights on US market

British lingerie brand Bravissimo has revealed ambitions to expand into America and is looking to open an East Coast store next year.

The brand, which was founded as a mail order business 22 years ago by entrepreneur Sarah Tremellen, launched a US website in May and is also expanding its UK retail footprint. It currently has 28 UK stores and is set to open more in London and the South East. Just last month it opened a new flagship store at the St David's shopping destination in Cardiff.

A spokesperson for Bravissimo told the Evening Standard that the brand, which specialises in larger cup sizes, was likely to open an East Coast store next year. "We know that many big-boobed women in the US find it really difficult to get a good choice of bras in bigger cup sizes, and we’d love to be able to offer them a more positive shopping experience," the spokesperson told the publication.

Bravissimo recorded a turnover of £50.2m in the year to 31 October 2016.
