Boots selling lateral flow tests as Government reveals plans to stop free COVID-19 testing

Following the Government’s announcement that it will discontinue free COVID-19 tests from 1 April, Boots is now selling "affordable" COVID-19 lateral flow tests. 

From today, customers can purchase a lateral flow test online at Boots for £5.99 per test or £17 for a pack of four, including delivery. These tests will offer customers the option to send results to the UK Health Security Agency if needed.

From early March, the health and beauty retailer will also offer lateral flow tests at over 400 Boots stores, priced at £2.50 for a single test or £12 for a pack of five. These tests will be available online at Boots.

Asif Aziz,  Director of Healthcare Services at Boots UK, said: “We are pleased to be expanding our COVID-19 testing services even further, with affordable lateral flow testing options for those who still want peace of mind from asymptomatic testing after 1 April.

“While it is great that we are returning to normal and finding a way to live with COVID-19, we encourage our customers and patients to stay safe and continue to take measures to limit the spread of the virus, especially to those in vulnerable groups.”
