Boohoo is to create 500 new jobs with the opening of a fourth warehouse, in Daventry, which is due to come on-stream at the end of the second quarter of its financial year.

The Manchester-based fast fashion group has been highly acquisitive during the pandemic, snapping up brands and online properties from collapsed businesses, including Debenhams, Burton, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis, Oasis and Warehouse.

The warehouse space, believed to be the former Arcadia facility, adds to existing sites in Burnley, Sheffield and Wellingborough and will give the group a net sales capacity of more than £4bn.

It plans to invest more than £50m in the site in the coming years to further increase capacity and has said it is possible a further 1,000 additional jobs could be created as a result.

As well as its namesake brand, Boohoo also owns BoohooMAN, Nasty Gal, PrettyLittleThing, Miss Pap, Karen Millen and Coast.

The group is also in the process of building a new, dedicated factory in Leicester.
