Boden has confirmed plans to close all stores from today, amid the continuing coronavirus outbreak in the UK.

The company, which has two stores in the UK, operates online and through mail-orders, announced it is closing all stores immediately, with the decision to be reviewed on 27 March.

In a statement CEO of Boden, Johnnie Boden, said: "Safety is our top priority but I’m equally keen not to panic in the face of this truly horrible bug. We’ve been rigorously following the recommendations of Public Health England and the World Health Organisation over the last few weeks.

"Our Boden teams have been self-isolating with the slightest illness of any kind and will continue to do so. We are now increasing the frequency and depth of our cleaning routines, planning split shifts and working from home where we can.

"We will do our absolute utmost to keep our websites and warehouses trading and to deliver everything you love about Boden. I am all set to help out in the warehouse, if needs be. We will continue to do our very best to lift your spirits. You might need that right now; I certainly do."

Boden will continue to operate via its online retail platform, working to fulfil orders that are received via mail and online.

Boden is following in the steps of brands like Abercrombie & Fitch, Urban Outfitters, Supreme and Lululemon, who all announced they would be closing all retail units for the near future.
