Birkenstock launches collaboration with French ballet pump brand Repetto
German clog and sandal brand Birkenstock has joined forces with premium French ballet pump maker Repetto on three silhouettes that fuse design elements from both brands’ signature styles.
Reinterpreted through Repetto’s refined lens, the iconic Birkenstock ‘Arizona’ sandal comes with exclusive oversized round buckles, lending a sculptural touch to the classic design.
Next up is the ‘Scala’, which takes shape with a round toe, two delicate top straps and a graceful laced bow.
Completing the trio, the ‘Opéra’ sabot style is adorned with long, fluid laces that wrap gently around the ankle like a dancer’s ribbon.
The collection is unified by a Vichy-check footbed lining and all styles come in European sizes 35 to 42 as well as three Repetto-style shades, including pink “to capture the elegance, lightness and spirit of dance”, flame red and black.
The collaboration forms part of Birkenstock 1774, the brand’s Paris-based special projects and collaborations unit.
Repetto was founded in 1947 a ballet atelier. The house has since evolved into a symbol of French craftsmanship, refinement and innovation.
