UNIQLO has released details regarding its upcoming collaboration with music artist Billie Eilish and contemporary artist Takashi Murakami.

The collaboration between global pop star Eilish and Japan’s most famous contemporary artist Murakami is a bold and unique blend of their two artistic visions, with both artists having previously worked together on Eilish's music video for "You Should See Me in a Crown".

The music video sees a cartoon figure of the singer turn into a spider that destroys a city and causes Murakami's signature flowers to wilt.

The collection, which will be released online at 8am, 25 May 2020, will retail from £7.90 and will be available in a range of women’s, men’s and kids’ sizes.

Graphics on the products feature Eilish’s symbol and Murakami’s signature flowers. The designs also feature a collage of Eilish’s photos, a sketch taken from her music video and a UT-Original Billie Eilish logo.

Uniqlo describes the collaboration on its website: "UT has miraculously made a collaboration with this talented duo a reality. The sensibilities of the contemporary artist and musician, each prolific at the highest level worldwide, have been fused together through fashion, in turn providing us with new discoveries in each of their visions."

In a press release, John C. Jay, President of Global Creative for Uniqlo, said: "Billie Eilish x Takashi Murakami. Two of the most influential global creators come together as a new expression of art for all."

The line will also be available in some retail stores when they reopen, although Uniqlo has not yet confirmed a reopening date in the UK.

Last month, in support of efforts to fight the global spread of COVID-19, UNIQLO announced that its parent company Fast Retailing, will distribute 500,000 masks to the UK Government.
