A unique edit of 10 cutting-edge young Chinese designers, curated by fashion editor and influencer Susie Lau, AKA Susie Bubble, are to be featured at at pop-up shop at Bicester Village to mark Chinese New Year.

The Celebrating China pop-up will be hosted by the Oxfordshire-based shopping destination from 29 January to 17 February.

It will house well-established designers such as Huishan Zhang – a former winner of the BFC Fashion Trust Award and a LVMH award finalist – along with a host of emerging names, such as Ryan Lo, Anaïs Jourden, Mukzin, I Am Chen, Marie Yat, Xu Zhi, Matter Matter, Yang Li and Snow Xue Gao.

“Chinese designers have come into their own in the last few years with so many graduating from the world’stop fashion schools, launching their own labels and showcasing these in London, New York and Paris. Their work covers the spectrum of aesthetics and extends far beyond their own cultural parameters. It’s a really exciting time for young Chinese designers today," said Lau.

Inspired by "modern millennial China", the purpose-designed boutique will feature a clever configuration of muslin drapes to create a dreamy, ethereal look. All furnishings have been sourced by China Design Centre, a collective of contemporary Chinese artists whose partnership with British creatives is designed to foster a platform of collaboration between the two nations.

Beijing-based neon artist Juno Shen has been commissioned to produce a series of limited-edition artworks specially for the pop-up, while supporting attractions at the Village include "YiFang" Taiwanese fruit tea pop-up and South East Asian fusion cuisine at the recently opened Shan Shui restaurant, the brainchild of famed restaurateur Ellen Chew.

The pop-up serves as the launch of Bicester Village’s New Voices 2019 programme, a year-long series of events aimed at providing a global stage for some of the most exciting creatives in the worlds of fashion, art and design.
