Beyond Retro opens special vintage pop-up in Selfridges

Beyond Retro has opened a special vintage pop-up in Selfridges as part of the upscale department store's on-going Resellfridges initiative.

With demand for vintage on the rise, and Selfridges challenging customer perceptions of luxury – with its Project Earth programme launched this summer – Beyond Retro’s pop up features myriad unique pieces that highlight the breadth and quality available in its handpicked, vintage offering.

With prices from £5 to £295.95, the rails showcase the brand’s most popular women's and unisex products, including branded sportswear, Levis, Christmas knits, vintage dresses, as well as pieces selected from Beyond Retro’s coveted archive collection.

With pieces such as 1930s satin slips, an Oscar de La Renta hand painted maxi dress, beaded brocade 1950s opera coats and cocktail dresses, and classic swinging 60s midi dresses, Beyond Retro’s archive is currently by appointment only, and rarely seen by the public.

“At Beyond Retro, sustainability has always been at the core of our business, and it's exciting to collaborate with such an iconic shopping destination such as Selfridges, who are really pushing to change the way people shop for a more positive impact. We spend every day finding unique treasures to save from landfill that deserve a second life, and having our collection in the midst of huge designer brands gives these pieces the status they deserve.

"This is another step in the right direction for the British high street, and we are thrilled to offer even more opportunities for customers to shop sustainable and find vintage pieces to last them a lifetime," said Kate Peters, Director of Retail at Beyond Retro

Jeannie Lee, womenswea director at Selfridges, added: “We are thrilled to be introducing Beyond Retro to our womenswear edit as our newest Resellfridges partner. Beyond Retro is a London institution beloved by fashion students, editors and people of influence and we are so excited to be able to introduce the brand to our customer.”
