Bespoke Savile Row mainstay launches “Huntsman at Home”

Savile Row tailoring supremo Huntsman is tapping in to the “new normal” message by launching a virtual shopping service – powered by Hero – so customers can be fitted by a Savile Row tailor from their laptops, called “Huntsman at Home.”

Founded in 1849, the company was brought in to the modern sharp suit world with its  “costume-to-collection” Kingsman line for MR PORTER - off the bat of dressing the cast for the three-film franchise – and is now focusing on innovation to bring its iconic style in to the online environment.

Huntsman head of retail, Taj Phull, said: “Huntsman at Home”, powered by Hero, enables our client managers to bring the luxury experience of a visit to Huntsman Savile Row to our clients all over the world.

“The introduction of our new ‘Made To Order’ service allows customers to reimagine our ready-to-wear collections, and create one-off pieces with a choice of over 1,000 cloths, delivered to their door in as little as four weeks.”

Previously, the storied experience of having a Huntsman coat or pair of trousers was limited to customers who could travel to New York or London. Even 20 years ago, visitors to Savile Row would have found the curtains drawn on the shop windows during the day, signifying that it was an exclusive experience for only a select few.

Fast forward to today, with this launch of the brand's new virtual shopping service, anyone with a laptop can be fitted by a Savile Row tailor.

With "Huntsman at Home" online shoppers can now create unique garments from the brand's ready-to-wear and newly launched made-to-order collection with the help of a Huntsman specialist.

Using chat, text and video, online customers can access the unique experience of having their measurements taken by a professional tailor and getting expert advice on fit and fabric.

In another example of the brand’s adaptation to changing shopper behaviour, Huntsman has also just launched with “buy now, pay later” provider Klarna.

Hero founder, Adam Levene, commented: “With the launch of Huntsman at Home, powered by Hero, we're bringing the unique Savile Row experience to customers virtually. It's a powerful example of virtual shopping's ability to extend the highly personal and immersive benefits of in-person shopping to e-commerce.”
