Berghaus refreshes free repairs service

British outdoor company Berghaus has unveiled a new campaign to promote one of the first services that the brand ever offered.

Led by a dedicated team at the brand’s headquarters in Sunderland, the Repairhaus service pledges to try and repair any damaged Berghaus clothing, footwear, bag or accessory product that is returned, however old, worn or weathered that item is.

Using a form submitted through the website, the expert Repairhaus team makes an initial assessment of every product and provides advice on whether they think that a repair is feasible. Although consumers are asked to pay the cost of sending the product to the company, every repair that Berghaus makes is free.

If kit has come to the end of its useful life, a like-for-like replacement will be offered for products that are still covered by guarantee. Berghaus also offers to upcycle everything else and give customers a 30% discount off a new product.

Charlie Pym, Brand Director of Berghaus said: "Berghaus products are built to last, but of course, one of the risks of outdoor adventure is your kit. As well as years of general wear and tear, products can get damaged in various ways. We’ve always offered the repair service and our in-house team has a treasure trove of stories about how they’ve helped keep much loved Berghaus kit out there in action.

"Repairhaus is a fundamental pillar of our positive business strategy. By extending the life of products for as long as possible, they don’t need to be replaced. We look at the full life cycle of kit – from our approach, product development, manufacturing, and packaging through to end-of-life options. We also work with Dirtbags Climbing, who repurpose kit into new and different products."
