Belgian designer Meryll Rogge named Marni's new Creative Director
Only The Brave (OTB), parent company of Marni, has announced that Belgian designer Meryll Rogge is its new Creative Director. Rogge replaces Francesco Risso after almost ten years at Marni's helm.
Stefano Rosso, CEO at Marni, said: "It is a great pleasure to welcome Meryll to Marni.
"She is an exceptional creative talent and an inspiring woman, whose vision and expertise will play a key role in shaping the future of this amazing brand."
Meryll Rogge is a Belgian designer whose eponymous label has carved out a distinctive space in contemporary womenswear since launching in 2020.
A graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Rogge honed her craft at Marc Jacobs in New York and Dries Van Noten in Antwerp before setting out with her own vision. Her namesake brand blends subversive femininity with sharp tailoring, earning her international stockists like Dover Street Market and SSENSE.
OTB Founder and Chairman, Renzo Rosso, added: "We met many highly qualified candidates, confirming how Marni continues to inspire and attract creatives from around the world. Meryll impressed us with the sensitivity she brought to reinterpreting the brand’s DNA, offering a contemporary vision that embraces Marni globally and across all its dimensions — including accessories, interior design, communication, and special projects.
"I wish her the best in carrying this vision forward with passion, supported by a team and a group that have always placed creativity at the core of their identity."
This appointment marks the first time a woman has taken the creative helm of an OTB brand, and follows recent leadership moves including Glenn Martens at Maison Margiela and Simone Bellotti at Jil Sander, signalling the group's evolving vision for its future.
Founded in 1994 by Swiss-born Castiglioni, Marni built a cult following for its offbeat prints, architectural silhouettes, and early commitment to recycled materials. OTB Group took full ownership in 2015, setting the stage for a new era under Risso’s leadership, who was appointed in 2016 following the departure of founder Consuelo Castiglioni. Risso announced he was leaving the group after ten years in June.
