Battersea Power Station marks first residents moving in with light show

Battersea Power Station hosted a spectacular light show last night to mark the first residents moving in, celebrating its transformation from derelict hulk to new London landmark to live in.

Along with the light show there were performances from the Local Battersea Choir and the London Symphony Orchestra.

A video and special "welcome home" message to residents was also projected on to the front of the Power Station, and new public artwork has been displayed across the river front as part of a host of activities celebrating the milestone.

Half a million square foot of office space in the building is also set to be handed over to Apple this summer to commence the fit out of its new London campus.

Retail and food and beverage brands will begin fitting out their units later in the year ahead of the Power Station opening to the public in 2022.

Additionally, the Northern Line extension is on track to open from this autumn, with a new Zone One London Underground station at Battersea Power Station significantly enhancing its connectivity.
