Barbour teams up with Sorel for limited-edition footwear and outerwear collection
British heritage brand Barbour has joined forces with Canadian outdoor footwear company Sorel on a limited-edition range of footwear and outerwear, merging “two icons of weather defiance”.
Sorel was founded in 1962 in Ontario, Canada, by the Kaufman Rubber Company, originally making winter sport and work boots. These days Sorel is a subsidiary of Columbia Sportswear, based in Portland, Oregon, but its distinctive outdoor footwear remains at the heart of the business, and this new collaboration with Barbour - complete with a campaign tagline of ‘foul weather friends’ - propels it into a different fashion sphere.
At the core of the collaboration are three footwear styles, each merging Sorel’s heritage craftsmanship and technology with Barbour’s signature minimalism.
From Gore-Tex waterproof fabric and Vibram traction outsoles to proprietary lightweight, comfort technology, each silhouette “embodies uncompromising performance, warmth, protection and style”.
The Sorel x Barbour ‘Callsign Horizon Low GTX’ shoe features a waterproof Gore-Tex membrane with a lightweight Livelyfoam midsole and Vibram grip outsole, finished with Barbour’s classic tartan.
Next up is the ‘Daystorm Horizon GTX’ waterproof and breathable hiking boot, designed with a leather and Gore-Tex fabrication, with a tartan tongue and Vibram grip outsole.

Last but not least on the footwear front is the ‘Caribou Horizon GTX Waterproof Boot’, described as “a longstanding Sorel icon reborn”, which comes with a corduroy collar and advanced Gore-Tex waterproof fabric.
Completing the capsule is a reimagined take on the iconic Barbour ‘Transport Jacket’: the Sorel x Barbour ‘Transport Down Wax Puffer’ combines Barbour’s waxed cotton heritage with Sorel’s protection-first ethos. Featuring an 80/20 down fill, corduroy collar and co-branded detailing, it’s “designed to carry the collection from storm to street”.
The collection is now available globally in Barbour and Sorel stores, as well as on each brand’s website.
