Avenue32.com confirms closure

Premium multibrand etailer Avenue32.com has confirmed its closure.

The business, which was founded six years ago by Roberta Benteler who was then just 26, started out as a platform for established and emerging designers with brands on the site including Isabel Marant Etoile, Shrimps and Eudon Choi.

A notice on its home page reads: "After 6 wonderful years, we have decided to focus on new projects and so, sadly, Avenue32.com is now closed. Thank you for being such loyal customers." Orders placed before 11 August would be fulfilled as normal, it said, and customers would have 15 days to return unwanted items.

Rumours began to circulate about the impending closure of the business when it failed to upload new season stock to its website and brands reported forward orders had either not been made or cancelled.
