ASOS, New Look, Zalando and more launch sustainability due diligence tool
As fashion’s sustainability regulations and supply chain transparency requirements continue to intensify, ASOS is taking a lead role in tackling one of the industry’s most persistent pain points: due diligence reporting.
The online fashion retailer has joined forces with BOUT YOU, ASOS, Boozt, Ellos Group, New Look, The Very Group and Zalando to launch the Retailer Brand Due Diligence Questionnaire, alongside One Retail Hub. It's a free digital platform designed to streamline Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (HREDD) across the apparel and footwear sector.
Announced in London today, the initiative aims to reduce duplication, improve efficiency and establish a shared industry baseline for ethical sourcing with a particular focus on easing the administrative burden placed on small and medium-sized brands.
By consolidating multiple retailers’ requirements into a single questionnaire, the framework replaces fragmented reporting with a unified methodology based on universally recognised criteria.
Crucially, the questionnaire aligns with OECD Due Diligence Guidance and sector-specific standards for garment and footwear supply chains, establishing a consistent industry-wide baseline for ethical sourcing performance. This shared approach allows brands to better navigate an increasingly complex compliance landscape, ensuring time and resources are focused where they can drive the most meaningful impact.
Elena Martinez Ortiz, EVP of Product at ASOS, said: "The aim of One Retail Hub is straightforward: make due diligence practical, consistent, and supportive of brands’ progress.
"Through a single-source approach informed by the OECD guidance and developed with our industry peers, we're cutting duplication and giving brands and retailers the clarity they need to act with confidence. This collaboration turns shared challenges into a capability-building pathway - helping all of us raise standards and accelerate meaningful improvement across global supply chains."
A spokesperson for Cascale added: "This initiative falls under Cascale’s mission to drive convergence, minimise duplication, and improve efficiency across the industry’s sustainability efforts. We were pleased to provide subject matter expertise and see this as an exciting opportunity for further collaboration."
As regulatory scrutiny increases across Europe, the launch signals a shift from individual compliance efforts to collaborative, industry-led solutions.
